Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Lord be with you.
Because of our physical distance from the Bulgarians Church, we don’t hear about them often. I spoke last year about the recent escalation in persecutions against them by the local Patriarchal Church which, by its actions is unworthy of the title. May God convert them!
We here in America are comfortable. We escaped the charade of COVID and its attempts at authoritarian rule over our American freedoms relatively unscathed. But because we True Orthodox here in the USA have few actual things keeping us from existing, other than our own sins, doesn’t mean that all of our Confessing brothers and sisters around the world share such freedoms.
Our Sister Church in Bulgaria is now under a more immediate threat from the Bulgarian Patriarchate. They need our prayers and any peaceful, Christian political support we might be able to give. I am providing you with two links: One is the newest video from our Seminary on the situation, and the other is an article written by a Bulgarian in defense of the Confessing Christians there, showing the demonic hypocrisy of the Patriarchate and any who support them. The article is very, very well written and above all - is fair.
Please watch and read, then ask God what you can do. If all you can provide is prayer, make sure it’s heartfelt and continuous.
May God help our people no matter where they be, and as a prayer from the liturgy of St. Basil says: “May the evil be turned to good by Thy goodness” O Lord. Amen.
